HISTORY
The Giles-Monroe County area, or the State Line region has a rich tradition in Old time Music. We have traced it to the 1840's,when Quincie Dillion and a handful of others moved into the area from further east(Franklin and Floyd Counties.)They brought with them the old pioneer fiddling that is nearly extinct today. Henry Reed was born in 1884 and he learned direct from some of these fiddlers. He told stories of these fiddlers, their style and their repetoir. He had a very unique (Long bow) style of playing the fiddle. He was probably the best well known fiddler to come out of this region. Henry died in 1968 at 82 years old.
